Eiichi designed more than fifty woodblock prints of flowers and (or) birds during the mid-1900s. Ten prints from two sets of his flower-and-bird pictures are shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Prints 1-5 from the first set were each relatively small in size (i.e., 150 x 200 mm) and the shapes of objects were strongly distorted. Prints 6-10 from the second set were each larger (i.e., 300 x 450 mm) and the shapes of objects were still distorted but less so. Distortion was a characteristic feature of prints made by artists of the SÅsaku Hanga (i.e., Creative Print) school to which Eiichi belonged. To see more prints by Eiichi click here.
